This is an ultrasound of the arm (shoulder to wrist)/leg (abdomen to ankle) arteries for any disease in the arterial circulation.
Utilising both grayscale and colour functions, it aims to diagnose arterial disease in the upper and lower limbs (eg. calcification, plaque, stenosis, aneurysm). This assessment is also designed for post-operative follow-up to ensure the normal functioning of a vascular stent or graft.
Report will include
- Morphologic and hemodynamic findings of arm arteries / abdominal & leg arteries
- Presence of aneurysm, calcification, plaque
- Stenosis grading and localization
- Presence of collaterals and recanalization
Patient Preparation
No strenuous physical activity or stress test 30 minutes prior to examination.
What will happen during the examination?
You will be asked to change into a gown and lie down on an examination bed. Our specialist sonographer will assess the blood vessels in your arms or legs.
The scan will take up to 30 minutes for both arms and 30 minutes for each leg.
